Hannam University (President Lee Kwang-Sup) announced on the 30th that it has been selected as the hosting institution for the "2023 Local Creator Project" organized by Daejeon Metropolitan City.
The Local Creator Project is a program that selects universities that cultivate local creators, entrepreneurs who generate social value through creativity and innovation using natural and cultural assets in the region.
Hannam University was selected as the host university for this year's program, and Daejeon University, Mokwon University, Pai Chai University, and Chungnam National University will participate as partner universities.
With this selection, Hannam University will receive an annual local subsidy of 180 million won and will cultivate local creators through programs such as entrepreneurship courses, entrepreneurship camps, and entrepreneurship contests using the university's educational programs and facilities.
Hannam University operates three major strategies as part of its vision to become a "hub institution for regional economic growth through entrepreneurship": ▲Training specialized personnel for entrepreneurship ▲Generating innovative growth according to each stage of entrepreneurship ▲Maximizing the performance and value of companies.
Choi Jong-geun, Deputy Head of the Hannam University Startup Support Team, said, "Since being designated as the only startup leading university in Daejeon in 2012, Hannam University has been operating various regional entrepreneurship support projects, such as being a startup-centered university, an early-stage startup package, and a laboratory-oriented startup leading university" and "Through the Local Creator Project, we can expect the activation of new industries in Daejeon through solving regional issues and creating value."
