The Daejeon International Development Cooperation Center (Director Yoon Tae-yong), which will serve as a hub for international development cooperation and official development assistance in the Daejeon region, has opened its doors at Hannam University. The opening ceremony and an international development cooperation seminar were held at the 56th Anniversary Memorial Hall of Hannam University at 2:30 p.m. on the 11th, jointly established by Hannam University, Daejeon Metropolitan City, and KOICA.

The opening ceremony included an introductory session on the Daejeon International Development Cooperation Center and its operational directions. Attendees included educational board members of Hannam University, Lee Kwang-Sup (President of Hannam University), Lee Taek-Gu (Deputy Mayor of Daejeon Metropolitan City), Hong Seok-Hwa (Standing Director of KOICA), Kim Tae-Soo (Standing Director of the Export-Import Bank of Korea), and Jung Sung-Chun (Deputy Director of the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy).

Hannam University, Daejeon Metropolitan City, and KOICA signed an agreement for the establishment of the Daejeon International Development Cooperation Center in November of last year. Since April 1st, the three institutions have been actively carrying out their duties.
The Daejeon International Development Cooperation Center, under the auspices of the Office of Industry-Academia Cooperation at Hannam University, will undertake various educational programs, regional community collaboration projects, and center-specific initiatives. These include basic education in international development cooperation, region-specific education, special lectures for future generations, and specialized lectures on international development cooperation for local small and medium-sized enterprises.

Additionally, the center will support the formation of networks and capacity-building activities for companies, institutions, and local students in the region to promote participation in official development assistance in the local community.
President Lee Kwang-Sup stated, "Through the establishment of the Daejeon International Development Cooperation Center within Hannam University, we anticipate an expansion of opportunities for participation in international development cooperation projects and education on official development assistance in non-capital regions. We look forward to systematic activities aimed at enhancing participation in local projects and establishing a platform for mutual growth through official development assistance."
