Introduction

There are a few housing options at Hannam University available for students. Each Residence Hall provides a clean, safe, and reflective place for students to live and study in. There are many services available in each of the HNU residence halls including Internet service, laundry, and cafeteria. The residence halls are named House of Truth/Freedom Hall, Hope Hall, and Nuri Hall. Additionally, there is the Hannam International House which is located within a five minute walk of campus with plans to add another residence hall to the Hannam Campus by summer of 2011. Overall, Hannam can accommodate 1,200 students in order to help them concentrate on their study.

Rules for daily life
Article 1: Terms and Goals
  1. These rules are termed "rules for private living at Hannam University" (hereafter referred to as "rules").
  2. These rules are applied to all students in the dormitory to maintain a harmonious co-existence within the living center.
Article 2: Life and Etiquette in the Dormitory

Students in the dormitories must eschew any behavior that disrupts the healthy coexistence and academic atmosphere of the dormitory. In particular, abusive language, violence, drinking, smoking, gambling and noisy behavior are not permitted.

Article 3: Use of Shared Items
  1. Students are responsible for providing compensation for fires occurring due to the student's error or damage and loss of shared items due to other causes.
  2. Movement of any fixtures within the dormitory without permission is prohibited.
  3. Students may not alter the layout of their rooms at will. In unavoidable circumstances, it can be changed through discussion with and permission from the dormitory assistant.
  4. Any behavior or use of any items that presents the risk of a fire (e.g., electric heaters, stoves, burners) is prohibited in the dormitory.
Article 4: Health and Hygiene
  1. Students in the dormitories must follow rules to prevent various diseases, as demanded by a communal lifestyle.
  2. In the event of illness, students are responsible for receiving treatment and paying all treatment expenses.
  3. Within the dormitory personal cooking and smoking are prohibited.
Article 5: Entering and Exiting the Dormitory, Sleeping Off-Campus
  1. It is prohibited for non-dormitory students to enter the dormitory and sleep there.
  2. Students are prohibited from leaving the dormitory between 11 pm and 5 am the next day. However, during test periods this time is altered to coincide with the hours of library operation.
  3. The dormitory supervisor and assistant may demand to see the student's dormitory identification when necessary to confirm if someone is a student.
  4. To sleep off-campus on weekdays (Monday-Thursday), students must submit a petition between 9 am and 9 pm that day and receive permission from the dormitory supervisor.
  5. It is possible to stay off-campus on the weekends (Friday-Sunday) after registering in the log book between 9 am and 10 pm that day.
Article 6: Roll Call
  1. Roll call is carried out at 11 pm, and students must follow the instructions of dormitory employees.
  2. Students suffering an inconvenience or illness at the time of roll call should request assistant from dormitory employees without delay.
  3. In the event of a mishap with the dormitory supervisor and assistant, roll call may be taken at the dormitory student assembly based on the permission of the dormitory director.
Article 7: Assembly and Use of Facilities
  1. Students who wish to use dormitory facilities must first obtain permission from the dormitory supervisor.
  2. All student gatherings are subject to the prior authorization of the dormitory supervisor.
  3. TV viewing is only permitted in the lounge, and personal possession or importation of televisions is prohibited.
Article 8: Discipline and Points
Discipline
  1. Students corresponding to Article 19 of the dormitory code are subject to eviction from the dormitory.
  2. Students corresponding to Article 25 of the dormitory code are subject to disciplinary measures.

Hope Hall


Introduction

This dormitory is a 10-story building and it can accommodate 528 people with 133 residence halls.
It has many amenities such as a cafeteria, a computer lab, a fitness room, a study room and so on.

Room
  • Four students share one room. There are four beds, desks, chairs, cabinets in each room. No one is allowed to cook in this building.
Bathroom
  • Each room has a bathroom and there are public bathrooms on each floor as well
Cafeteria
  • There is a cafeteria available in the basement of this building. Three meals are served each day at standard times. After eating, students should clean their table areas and push their chairs under the table to avoid inconveniencing others.
Laundry room
  • There are four laundry machines on each floor. It can be used between 7 am and midnight. Students should observe these times to minimize noise from the machines. If students decide to hand-wash clothing they should make sure not to leave the faucet running while doing laundry. After washing, students should make sure that the area is clean so that they do not inconvenience others. The Use of the the laundry machine is free but students are required to prepare a detergent.
Irons
  • This is located on each floor. If students are not attentive before and after using the irons, there is the possibility of major accidents such as fires or electric shock. After using the irons, students must unplug them and place them neatly on the steel iron stand. Student must make sure to avoid the possible occurrence of fires by doing this.
Computer Lab
  • The computer lab is open between the hours of 9 am and 10:50 pm, and students must use it only during the designated time.

    Students must log their computer use.

    Long-term use for activities such as games is prohibited.

    Notify the office in the event of a PC malfunction.

    The student must supply A4 paper for printing.

    Students must use the PCs according the instructions.

    In the event of malfunction due to the student's faulty or inappropriate operation, the user must pay for any compensation.

    After use, the student should make sure that the area around the PC is neat and verify that the PC has been turned off.

Truth Hall (for Women)


Introduction

This 5-story dormitory building is only for women and it can accommodate 172 people with 43 residence halls. It has many amenities such as a cafeteria, a computer lab, a fitness room, and so on.

International House


Introduction

Hannam International House is a 3-story building and it can accommodate 33 people with 16 residence halls. It does not have a cafeteria; however, students can feel free to use any of the cafeteria’s around campus.

Nuri Hall


Introduction

This dormitory was jointly constructed by Daejeon City Government, Expo Park, and several universities in Daejeon including Hannam University. Nuri Hall Dormitory is a 10-story building and it can accommodate 450 people. The dormitory is composed of cafeteria, common kitchen, laundry room, fitness gym, lounge with water dispenser, television, and public phone & Internet station. Each floor has a fire extinguisher and fire exit that will use just in case of emergency.

Room
  • Nuri Hall has rooms for two people and it consists of beds, study tables, cabinets for clothes and shoes. Internet service is provided through wireless LAN service but no Wi-Fi service.
Bathroom
  • Each room has a bathroom. Students should keep it clean so that other students can use that bathroom with pleasant feelings.
Cafeteria
  • There is a cafeteria available on the first floor of this building. Three meals are served each day at standard times. After eating, students should clean their table areas and push their chairs under the table to avoid inconveniencing others.
Laundry & Drying room
  • Laundry & drying room is on the second floor. 1,000(KRW) is needed to use laundry & drying machines respectively. Students are not allowed to use those machines after midnight since they could inconvenience other students by making noise.
Fitness room
  • There is a Fitness room available on the second floor. There are also basketball & badminton courts outside and table tennis courts are on the 6th floor. Any student who lives here at Nuri Hall can enjoy their sports freely./span>
