HNU to the World!

Hannam University's football team has achieved a 'Grand Slam' by winning four championships for the first time in college football history on the college football stage. In 2023, Hannam University lifted three championship cups including the 1st and 2nd Year Football Federation Tournament, the Spring, and Autumn University Football Federation Tournaments, and followed it up by winning the National Sports Festival, thereby writing a new chapter in football history since its establishment in 2000.

Under the direction of coach Kyu-Sun Park, the Hannam University football team, representing Daejeon, competed in the '104th National Sports Festival Men's University Division' final on the 19th at the Mokpo International Football Center. They defeated Chungnam's representative, Dankook University, 2-1 to clinch the gold medal.

In the final of the National Sports Festival, Hannam University's player Bae Do-hyun opened the scoring with the first goal in the 10th minute of the first half, and Kim Min-jae added a second goal in the 54th minute of the second half, bringing the team close to victory. Although Dankook University scored a goal in the 62nd minute of the second half, Hannam University secured a thrilling 2-1 victory with tight defense.
This victory confirmed the 'Hannam University Era' as the team swept through the national stage. Of the five national tournaments held this year, they won four, excluding the quarterfinal finish in the 1st and 2nd Year Autumn Tournament.

Starting with the victory in the 59th Spring University Football Federation Tournament in March, they lifted the Baekdudaegan Cup for two consecutive years in July at the 1st and 2nd Year University Football Federation Tournament. They continued their success with a win in the 59th Autumn University Football Federation Tournament in August and now the National Sports Festival, achieving a 'Grand Slam' in football.

Hannam University gathered faculty, staff, and a student cheering squad for the National Sports Festival final, providing enthusiastic support and boosting the morale of the players. Coach Kyu-Sun Park said, "The players trained hard with the goal of winning the last national tournament of the year. I'm grateful that they overcame physical and mental challenges, and their hard work led to good results. Through this year's competitions, both the players and I have grown significantly. Riding this momentum, we will work even harder to make Hannam University a renowned name in football."
