President Seung-cheol Yi of Hannam University is taking practical steps towards establishing a Global Consortium of Christian Universities ahead of the final Glocal University 30 project designation. From June 10th to the 21st, President Lee visited five partner universities in the United States over a 12-day trip, during which he discussed the construction of the Global Consortium of Christian Universities and signed agreements with the Federation of Korean American Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Atlanta.
On the 11th, President Yi visited King University, and on the 13th, he visited Presbyterian College, where he discussed creating the Global Entrepreneurship Alliance University that Hannam University is pursuing. Hannam University has proposed a 'Global Innovation Strategy' to build a global entrepreneurship ecosystem in preparation for the Glocal University 30 designation.
Hannam University plans to establish a Global Consortium of Christian University systems in collaboration with six countries (the United States, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, and Indonesia) and create joint colleges to operate joint entrepreneurship education programs, awarding joint degrees. The university has already signed agreements with seven universities in Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Taiwan and is in the process of signing agreements with one university in Thailand and three universities in Japan. The visit to the U.S. universities is expected to finalize all agreements with the six countries for the Global Entrepreneurship Alliance University.
In addition to inter-university discussions, President Yi took swift action to support practical entrepreneurship. On the 14th, he signed agreements with the Federation of Korean American Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Atlanta. Under these agreements, the institutions will support students with overseas internships, industry-academia cooperation education, marketing cooperation, and investment attraction.
President Seung-cheol Yi of Hannam University said, "By signing agreements with U.S. partner universities and chambers of commerce for the establishment of the Global Consortium of Christian Universities, we have taken a significant step towards our planned global entrepreneurship university. Hannam University aims to lead the world's only model of an entrepreneurship university through proactive alliance building."
